Privacy Policy

Effective . This policy covers the Venus website at venusmcp.up.railway.app and the VenusMCP server at venusmcp.up.railway.app/mcp.

Summary

Venus has no accounts and does not ask for your name, email address or payment details. It needs the text of your requests to answer them. To do that, requests are sent to third-party AI and search providers. We keep as little as the service needs, for as short a time as it needs it. We do not sell your information and do not use it for advertising.

Venus is run by an individual operator based in Western Australia, referred to here as we or us. We handle personal information in line with the Australian Privacy Principles in the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth).

What we collect

  • Tool requests. The text your assistant sends when it calls a Venus tool: questions, search queries, image and music briefs, research topics, the model chosen, and any conversation or job reference. Anything personal you put in a request is included, so leave out information you do not want processed.
  • Playground messages. What you type into the playground on this website, and the mode, model and genre you pick, handled the same way as tool requests.
  • Results. The answers, reports, images and music produced for you.
  • Request logs. For each request to the server our software writes one log line: the method, the path, the status code, the accept header and the first 60 characters of the user agent (which identifies the client software, such as an AI assistant). These lines do not include IP addresses.
  • Allowance records. To enforce usage limits our software keeps your IP address with the times of your recent requests on our server: for an hour for the playground's hourly limits, up to a day for Tempo 1 in the playground, and up to 5 hours for Tempo 1 through a connector. Older entries are removed automatically.
  • Hosting data. Our hosting provider receives your IP address and connection details to deliver traffic, and may keep its own logs under its own policy.
  • Website visits. The website runs no analytics or tracking. The playground sets one cookie, venus_client, holding a random ID that counts your allowance separately from other browsers on the same network. It is not linked to anything else about you and expires after a year. It loads its fonts from Google Fonts, which receives your IP address and browser details when the page loads.

How we use it

We use this information to answer your requests and return the results, to let your assistant ask follow-up questions and collect long-running jobs, to find and fix faults, and to detect and stop abuse. We do not use it to profile you, to advertise to you, or to train AI models.

Who receives it

  • AI and search providers. The text of each request is sent to third-party AI model and web search providers so they can produce the answer, image, track or report. Requests are made through our accounts with those providers (a second account takes over when the first reaches a usage limit). They are saved in those accounts' history, and the providers process and keep them under their own terms and privacy policies, which may include using them to improve their services.
  • Our hosting provider, Railway, which runs the server and stores generated files and logs.
  • Anyone you give a file link to. Generated files can be opened by anyone who has the link.
  • Authorities, where the law requires us to disclose information, or where disclosure is needed to protect someone's safety or our legal rights.

We do not sell, rent or trade personal information.

Overseas processing

Our AI, search and hosting providers operate mainly in the United States and may process information in other countries where they run data centres. By using Venus you acknowledge that your requests are handled outside Australia. Those providers are bound by the laws of their own countries, which may protect privacy differently from Australian law.

How long it is kept

  • Results for long-running jobs are held in the server's memory for up to one hour, then discarded.
  • The references that allow follow-up questions are held in memory until the server restarts. For Reality 1 Pro and Design 1 the reference (a conversation ID, not its content) is kept on our server for 30 days so a design or image can be revised later.
  • Trail 1 projects (the goal, context, checklist and notes your assistant sends) are stored on our server so they can be reopened later, and are deleted 90 days after their last change. Anyone who has a project's ID can open it. If an owner key is used, only a one-way hash of it is stored.
  • Generated images and music are deleted from our server about 24 hours after they are made.
  • Request logs are kept for as long as our hosting provider keeps deployment logs.
  • Copies held by the AI and search providers, including the history in our provider account, are kept under those providers' retention rules until they are deleted.

Security

Connections to Venus are encrypted with HTTPS. Generated files are stored under long random names. The server itself is open, and anyone who knows the address can call it. We take reasonable steps to protect the information we hold, but no online service can promise complete security.

Children

Venus is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect their personal information. If you believe a child has sent personal information through Venus, contact us and we will delete what we hold.

Your rights

You can ask to access or correct personal information we hold about you, or ask us to delete it. Because Venus has no accounts, we usually cannot tell which requests are yours. Include the conversation reference or the time of the request so we can find them. We will reply within 30 days.

If you are unhappy with how we handle your information, contact us first. If we do not resolve it, you can complain to the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner at oaic.gov.au.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy as Venus changes. The effective date at the top shows when it last changed, and we will post a notice on this website before any change that affects how your information is shared.
